above: A classic Japanese style of Oriental Gazebo

A gazebo is often built in a somewhat elevated surface area, with open air borders situated in a spot that commands a pleasant view. It can also be a lightweight freestanding open-sided canopy for use in a garden, usually as a sunshade. Usually, it is a pavilion structure in parks, garden areas and other expansive public areas and at times it is eight sided that can be seen mostly in Asian Countries like Japan and Malaysia. When it is used in public places, it often serves as a platform for a band or shelter during rainy times.

Gazebos come in various different types. The type should complement the garden that you have and of course, your garden’s scheme and style. The Gazebo Victorian style is for those who have a very traditional taste yet regal and this type is so much romantic for dates. Some also would prefer to have the widely open ones, which could be an oriental pagoda style gazebo or just like a conservatory structure because of its hanging plants and climbing vines which is definitely the pergola.

Oriental Gazebos are the very popular ones. These are outdoor gazebos created from the concept of classic Japanese style. Similar to a pergola gazebo, Oriental gazebo is designed to be open roofed and built with a lot of columns made out of heavy wood beams. Its wooden columns supported by stiff lumbers are really makes a remarkable appearance. This oriental gazebo has unique Japanese style of rooftop, definitely a splayed roof with high corner edges. In order to reconstruct the Asian Monasteries with a classical style, a large brass gong is needed, though it has been the most popular accessory since then. Since it has been decorated with bonsai trees, showing the art of growing miniature trees or with other Asian flowers or flowering shrubs, having them would make the ambiance more fulfilled.
